UAV Imaging covers Stony Plain, Spruce Grove and Parkland County as routine day-trip work rather than a planned mobilisation. The Highway 16 corridor west of Edmonton is roughly half an hour from our base, which changes what is practical here: short-notice capture, repeat monthly progress flights and single-asset inspections are all schedulable without a travel line that makes them uneconomic.
The work in this corridor is shaped by four things happening on the same ground. Land development and subdivision build-out across both cities and the county. A dense industrial and logistics block along Highway 16 and through Acheson. Power generation and transmission infrastructure in the Wabamun and Genesee area. And working agriculture and aggregate operations across the rest of Parkland County.
Services available in Stony Plain and Spruce Grove
- Construction and development progress imagery: dated site records through a subdivision or commercial build, earthworks volumes and as-built capture, flown on a repeating schedule so the sequence is comparable month to month
- Drone mapping and site plans: topographic survey, drainage and grading capture, orthomosaics, yard and facility as-builts
- Drone stockpile measurement: aggregate, gravel, soil and material volumes against a defined base surface, with an accuracy report the number can be defended with
- Drone inspection services: commercial and industrial roofs, plant and shop structures, storage and process equipment, communication and lighting structures, thermal survey of electrical and mechanical assets
- Drone LiDAR surveys: corridor, right-of-way and vegetated-ground capture where photogrammetry alone will not reach the surface
- Land and property marketing imagery: high-resolution stills and video of development parcels, industrial property and commercial buildings, including staged progress sets for sales and leasing
- Damage and event documentation: dated, geo-referenced imagery of hail, wind, fire or flood damage for insurance and claim files
Industries served around Parkland County
- Construction and land development: subdivision build-out, commercial and industrial site work, earthworks quantities, monthly progress records for lenders, owners and dispute files
- Utilities and power: generation, substation and transmission corridor imagery and thermal inspection through the Wabamun and Genesee area, plus right-of-way vegetation capture
- Aggregate: pit plans, progressive reclamation records and stockpile volumes on county gravel operations
- Industrial, logistics and manufacturing: roof and structure inspection, yard and lot as-builts, laydown and material inventory across the Acheson and Highway 16 industrial block
- Agriculture: field topography and drainage, NDVI and crop scouting direction, yard and outbuilding inspection across Parkland County
- Municipal government: infrastructure asset mapping, stormwater and lagoon capture, road condition, park and recreation planning imagery for both cities and the county
- Insurance and loss adjusting: residential, commercial and agricultural roof and storm documentation without putting an adjuster on a ladder
Service area
UAV Imaging works the City of Spruce Grove, the Town of Stony Plain and all of Parkland County, including Acheson, Carvel, Duffield, Entwistle, Fallis, Gainford, Genesee, Keephills, Seba Beach, Tomahawk and Wabamun, along with the Highway 16, 16A, 60, 627 and 770 corridors. Work here is routinely combined with Edmonton, St. Albert, Devon and Leduc jobs in the same day, and county sites are batched into a single trip so that scattered parcels do not each carry their own setup.
Airspace here needs checking, and it is not the one people expect
The airspace item in this corridor is Villeneuve Airport, immediately northeast of Spruce Grove. It is a busy general aviation and flight training field with its own control zone, and training circuits put light aircraft over ground well beyond the runway. Sites in the north and east of Spruce Grove and across the adjacent county can fall inside airspace that requires authorisation before a flight, and that authorisation takes time to arrange.
Edmonton International sits to the southeast and matters for work toward Devon and Leduc. There are also registered private and agricultural strips scattered through Parkland County that do not appear on a casual look. None of this stops ordinary work. All of it is settled by checking exact site coordinates at quoting rather than the town name on the morning of the flight, which is the difference between a scheduling note and a wasted mobilisation.
Why hire an operator who works this corridor
Development work has a requirement most industrial capture does not: the flights have to be comparable. A progress set is only worth keeping if each month was flown at a similar altitude, on a similar path, into the same coordinate system, so that two dates can be laid on top of each other and the difference means something. That is a discipline rather than a piece of equipment, and it is the thing that turns a folder of pictures into a record a lender, an owner or a lawyer can rely on.
Being half an hour away is the other half of it. A site that needs capture before a pour, after a storm or ahead of a draw request needs an operator who can be there this week, not one pricing a trip. UAV Imaging pairs that with Transport Canada certified crews, $5M aviation liability insurance, and deliverables built to be measured against rather than just looked at.
